Something New? Have you done anything new this New Year, this New Moon? So busy with your life you have no time to see what new things you have done already this year?  We started the year celebrating and acknowledging our selves, making determinations and learning lessons.  This New Moon in Aquarius is a good time to relax into the year 2015 and start to look lightly at your life and the life of the world. 

Rest This New Moon is a good time to Rest and Rejuvenate yourself.  2015 is the year to nurture yourself. Taking time to rest after a busy schedule is important for your body, mind and spirit. Rest your on-going struggle within your soul for a moment.  Rest the twilight side of your consciousness (the night and the underworld). Rest. Rest. Rest. Live and Let Be.  Allocate time to rest – maybe 15 minutes a day. 

Create a Sacred Space to promote your nurturing this year.  Create a Sacred Space to represent peace to you.  Tidy your space and your home.  Take your time and allow yourself to enjoy the process and throw away anything you do not want.  Get it recycled, give it to someone else who will value it.  If you have not tidied up your Sacred Space for a while please do so with this energy.  Really create an intention to flow. Bring flowers into your home, your office, your Sacred Space.  Allow the lovely scent of flowers to freshen the air.  Allow the bright colours to lighten and brighten your room.  Allow the shapes to bring a smile to your face.  Hug the flowers and let them kiss you.

Rainbow A wonderful thing to do is to open up your hands and fly.  Imagine your arms are wings floating and cruising in the air.  Feel the wind on your face and feel the ease with which you float through the air.  Allow a lightness of being to come over you.  When I do this, I see that I am wearing a long sleeved, soft, flowing rainbow dress.  AND I have a rainbow body (my face, arms and legs); and rainbow wings.  I love it. I fly feeling and being at One; and then; I am nothing and I become air!  This feeling is the New Moon in Aquarius feeling: the feeling of freedom, of gliding and knowing the sense of freedom and merging with the Cosmos.

Freedom  Be free with yourself.  Freedom is an emotion.  Freedom is a golden vessel full of living feelings and emotions. What is ‘Freedom’ to you?  Have you truly experienced it? For me the word ‘Freedom’ is moving with ease, with no restrictions, ignorance, blockages or suffering. Freedom is easy and at the same time it can be an intelligence that is not easy.  You can be tortured and feel free or you can be tortured and feel trapped in the prison of your mind.  The prison on your mind is where Freedom resides.

1. Mercury Retrograde  We go Mercury Retrograde after the New Moon on 20 January; from 21 January – 1 February 2015 for 11 days….  A Mercury Retrograde affects communication and feelings.  Access your dreams and allow information and breakthroughs to come through the obstructions, limitations and blockages that come up.  Do not resist, rather be like air and allow the freedom of the movement of air to liberate you.
2. Pluto comes to say hello on the Full Moon 3rd February.  Pluto opposes Sirius, the brightest star in the sky. We want to be free from the past and live in the now moving forward in 2015.  Our shadow side will come to play with us this year.  Be prepared for that.  Feel it and allow it to move through you. 
3. Saturn Return If you are 28 or 29 / 58 or 59 years old you are having a Saturn Return.  Be mindful of this and take time to look at your life and the way you want it to be – after all the lessons learnt.

Theft of Fire for Humanity Grandmother Spider stole fire, hiding it in a clay pot; in Cherokee mythology. Crow stole fire from a volcano in the middle of the water in Yukon mythology.  While some other Native Americans thought fire was stolen and given to humans by Coyote, Beaver or Dog.  Prometheus, in Greek mythology, steals heavenly fire for humanity against the wishes of Zeus.  He is punished by Zeus. Prometheus is changed to a rock and every day an eagle eats his liver, which regenerates by night, due to his immortality.  The Eagle is a symbol of Zeus.  Hercules slays the Eagle and frees Prometheus from the eagles torment.  These are all selfless acts for humanity.  What selfless act for humanity are you carrying out?  What cause are you fighting for in this incarnation? What are you co-creating?

Teaching and Learning All these myths talk about some energy vortex taking it upon themself to help humanity – risking their life to help humanity.  This is a very Aquarian energy.  The desire to improve mankind.  The belief in the goodness of humanity. Aquarius energy likes to help humanity and improve humanity.  They will ‘steal’ to help humanity.They love to teach and help you learn.  If you are a teacher you may feel a deep need to share your knowledge and want to improve humanity with your essence on earth.  This teaching energy is very important with this energy.  What do you need to go learn?  What do you need to teach?

New Moon Goddess:  Dakinin 

With the energy of this New Moon we call on the Goddess Dakinin to transmute base metal to gold.  She is the  alchemical medicine to help transmute, transform and create energy that moves freely and easily.   She removes blockages in the energy field and melts frozen patterns.  She empties the mind of rubbish. She opens the mind for something new to come in. 

She is the New Moon in Aquarius Goddess with this Energy of Now.  She asks you to look at the coincidences in your life and the synchronicities in your life.  She asks you to notice the signs, omens and sign posts.  She asks you to be alert, quick and sharp like air. She is the gifted shamaness, the gifted healer, the enchanting woman, the invincible high priestess.  She is surrounded by men who are magicians, shamans, Buddha’s and yogis.

She is the Goddess of Wisdom and Spiritual Knowledge.  Just like Light dispels darkness; Wisdom of the Heart dispels / destroys / extinguishes ignorance.  She gives psychic and spiritual powers, as well as, magical powers.   She is the alchemical transformation we need to enlightened awareness.  She is a female Messenger of Wisdom, Compassion and Courage. 

She is the Dancing Goddess who dances in the sky.  The Sky Dancer in Tibetan philosophy.  She is a dazzling enchantress who soars through clouds, through space; revelling in utmost freedom. She moves in space.  She moves in the sky.  She dances because she is active energy. 

She is the active manifestation of energy.  She is the active manifestation of movement in space.  She is the active manifestation of movement in the physical body.  She is the active manifestation of all phenomena.  She is 3000 possibilities in one moment.  She is the movement of thought, the movement of the mind in motion.  She is the energy of the mind leading to transformation and enlightenment.  She is active energy. She is enlightened awareness.  She is wisdom (prajna).  She is energy (Shakti).  She is the Goddess Sophia (Greek Goddess).

She sparks wisdom – just like that – with a snap of her finger, or a single directed word or a gesture.

She glides.  She is unrestricted.  She is free and flows in the air. As Vajranatha John Reynolds says: “She glides lithely, unrestricted by materialistic trappings like clothing, gold, and riches. Her hair billows freely as she dances in joyous abandon. She transcends worldly desires and is unrestrained by human cravings. The supreme, boundless liberty that a Dakini knows stems from the pristine wisdom she possesses. Her sharp, penetrating mind sees only that which matters and disregards all else, thereby setting her free to blissfully soar through limitless time and space.”  

I love the fact she has FOUR arms which are the four immeasurable states of the mind: Love, Compassion, Joy and Equanimity.  Each hand holds a symbolic object which carry great powers of action.

• Flower-Entwined Bow and Arrow.  Shots wisdom.  It is attractive and magnetic.  It attracts. It magnetises. 
• Lotus Flower Hook and Noose. This beautiful hook is used to attract passions and the noose is to bring in or rope in the passions. The Lotus-Flower Hook attracts and magnetises.  She summons.  She binds you to her will! because you allow her.
• She attracts passions and materialist desires with her Lotus Flowered Hook and transforms them into liberating wisdom with her Flowered-Entwined Bow and Arrow.

She wears a necklace of fifty freshly severed heads dripping with blood; which represent fifty negative emotions.  She destroys all fifty negative emotions and turns their poison into medicine. This is alchemical medicine. 

She wears an apron of human bones around her to to represent the five perfections, she being the sixth – Wisdom.  She represents freedom from worldly concerns. The 6 perfections are: Generosity, Discipline, Patience, Diligence, Meditative Concentration and Wisdom (Skilful Means, Strength, Aspiration Prayers and Primordial Wisdom).

She dances on a male human copse showing her ability to destroy one’s ego and self importance.  She enchants and subjugates the ego. 

She stands on a Red Sun Disk showing her hot enflamed passion.  She stands on a Red Lotus blossom showing she has pure vision of enlightened awareness.  Her vision is pure and clear.

What is True and What is not True?

In life we are always seeking what is true and what is not.  We have trust issues.  We feel lost.  We feel left out.  It made me wake up to the question:  “Who is the real Betty Boo in these pictures?”

            

There was a law suit as to who inspired the creation of the cartoon figure: Betty Boo.  It was finally admitted it was a black lady called Esther Jones known as Baby Esther.  Betty Boop, Max Fleischer’s most famous creation, first appeared in “Dizzy Dishes,” which was released on August 9, 1930.  Her voice sounded a lot like Baby Esther’s and her name was obviously borrowed from Esther’s signature “boop oop a doop”. You can read more here betty-boop-was-black/.  Esther Jones was an African-American singer and entertainer in the late 1920 who performed regularly at The Cotton Club in Harlem.  Her stage name was “Baby Esther” and her song style often included the famous words “Boop-Oop-A-Doop”.   These famously associated words associated with Betty Boop, were first sung on stage in the Cotton Club by a jazz singer named Baby Esther. How refreshing to know this.  Going back to the original question – Who is the real Betty Boo in these pictures? – the answer is the middle picture, Esther Jones. The first picture is the lovely model Olya as Betty Boop photographed by Russian Retro Atelier (2008). You can have a look at this site for gifts Betty Boo. You can read more about the lawsuit in the pursuit of truth and justice. It was NOT Helen Kane.  By the time the lawsuit ended Esther Jones was dead!  Deep respect to her memory. RIP Esther Jones.
